Course Description:

Introduction to the English language with a focus on Reading and Listening Skills to develop comprehension of elementary oral and written expression with vocabulary relevant to the workplace and grammatical structures. Practice with second language learning strategies for understanding written text, basic conversations and note-taking in the university context. From January 28 to April 10, 2025; Tuesday and Thursday, 11:30am to 1:00pm (no classes during Reading Week). Please note that this course is given online (virtual mode).

Requirements:

B.A. with specialization in a field relevant to the teaching of L2 English or Higher Certificate in L2 English Teaching. Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college and/or university level. Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course. Experience with heterogeneous group.

An acceptable level of education/experience may be considered equivalent to the required training and/or demonstrated experience.
