The Arts Lab programme manager will ensure that a successful programme of arts activity is delivered across a broad geographical area in a way that meets the priorities of Creative Kernow and funders, and leaves the young people involved better placed to meet the challenges of the world. They will contract artists to deliver the project activity with young people and will be the central point of contact between the settings, Arts Lab partners, funders, the artists, and the young people, monitoring success on an ongoing basis.
The programme manager is part of the Creative Communities team at Creative Kernow. As Young People’s Lead at Creative Kernow, the postholder will plan and deliver additional youth projects with separate funding from alternative providers. This may include planning and facilitating monthly sessions with the Kernow Youth Collective, a group of young people aged 16- 25 who are building arts leadership skills and experiences, and planning and facilitating a week of work experience for a group of Year 10 students in Summer 2026.
This position is 22.5 hours a week (0.6 FTE).
Substantial experience of working with young people to develop projects and/or programmes.
Experience of working in an arts, education and/or youth sector context at a managerial level.
Strong project management and evaluation skills, evidenced through their work.
Experienced budget manager with fundraising skills.
Good knowledge of the arts, youth and education sectors in Cornwall.
A clear commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, evidenced through their work.
Excellent communication and IT skills and a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office including Teams
Experienced in developing creative health and wellbeing programmes.
Experience of working with young refugees.
Experience of partnership working.
Understanding of trauma-informed practice
Understanding of community engagement.
Full driving licence and access to own transport.
