Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Surgery – Cardiothoracic Surgery

Position Summary

The Indiana University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, is seeking a Cardiovascular Surgeon with specialized training in Minimally Invasive Robotic cardiac surgery to join our highly skilled multidisciplinary team in the Indianapolis Metro Region. Applicants should have experience in teaching residents and fellows, and passion for caring for complex cardiovascular patients.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience in performing complex coronary revascularization, valve repair and replacement, and minimally invasive robotic valve operations. They will support and contribute to a growing practice with highly collaborative and interdependent quality systems in place for successful patient outcomes. This is a full-time faculty position; salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Have an MD/DO and be board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
• Have completed a general surgery residency program and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship OR integrated residency program, AND additional specialty training in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Cardiac Surgery. Preferred applicants will have a minimum of three years of employment experience following completion of fellowship training.
• Be licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in Indiana
• Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a large dynamic health system
• Commit to the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students
• Have a passion for innovation and investigation in the specialty of cardiothoracic surgery
