Position Summary

Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) and Indiana University Health Physicians are seeking a trained surgeon to join the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. This is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative group of physicians, in a well-established, fast paced, academic environment. This physician will provide services at the Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital Level 1 Trauma center in downtown Indianapolis in addition to Roudebush VA and Eskenazi Hospital. The candidate will also have protected research time and the ability to work with medical students and residents. 

The appropriate candidates will be responsible for cardiovascular surgery for adult cardiac surgical patients with procedures including CABG, Valve Replacement, TAVR, TEVAR, Valve Repair and Aortic, and teaching residents and students in their surgery specialty and participating in clinical research. They will support, and contribute to, a growing practice with highly collaborative and interdependent processes in place for successful patient outcomes. This is a full-time position; salary and academic / clinical rank will be commensurate with experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • MD/DO or equivalent education
  • Completion of cardiothoracic surgery fellowship or integrated program
  • American BC/BE in Surgery
  • Established research portfolio
  • Collaborate and successfully interact with a multi-disciplinary team to promote high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills and clear written and verbal communication skills.
