Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor, Inorganic and General Chemistry

The appointment will begin July 1, 2026, or as negotiated, subject to final budgetary approval. The salary range and fringe benefits for this position are defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022 – 2025 Collective Agreement sections 35 and 36B.

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline and have concomitant teaching experience; postdoctoral experience would also be an asset. Duties will include teaching introductory general chemistry and senior inorganic chemistry courses (development, delivery and/or coordination of lecture and laboratory course components). The successful candidate will bring complementary experience and expertise that will support existing teaching capacity, engage and inspire students, and assist the diversification of the curriculum.

The Department of Chemistry at the University of New Brunswick has a long tradition of research and teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels and in diverse areas of chemistry. There are also numerous well-established collaborations and cooperative programs with other units at UNB, including biology, physics, earth sciences, forestry, and chemical engineering. The department is situated on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of Wolastoqiyik, on the Fredericton campus of UNB in the vibrant and diverse provincial capital of New Brunswick.
