Department GSAPP-Applied Psychology

Salary Open

Posting Summary

The Organizational Psychology (OP; https://gsapp.rutgers.edu/op) graduate program within the Department of Applied Psychology at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University, New Brunswick is seeking an outstanding candidate for a non-tenure track, assistant or associate teaching professor or professor of practice position to teach graduate level courses in industrial, work, organizational, and personnel (IWOP) psychology, organizational development, statistics, and research methods, and to coordinate our organizational psychology (OP) internships, starting Fall 2025. The successful candidate should have experience teaching (2 undergraduate or graduate courses in IWOP-related courses) and mentoring university-level students, as well as professional practice experience in IWOP Psychology. Furthermore, candidates will show capacity to contribute to the mission and goals of the OP graduate programs, GSAPP, and the professional community.

Candidates must be at least ABD (with expected completion by August 2025).

The successful candidate will serve as teaching faculty and internship coordinator. In the role of internship coordinator, the faculty will provide oversight of all OP internship and practicum placements. This role includes engaging in community outreach (locally and nationally) to foster relationships and develop memorandums of understanding with organizations that would hire OP graduate students for internships, vetting the organizations, communicating requirements with supervisors, monitoring quality to ensure exceptional student practical and professional development, and facilitating opportunities for faculty to partner with organizations to provide students with real experiential engagements throughout their courses of study. In addition to teaching graduate level courses in IWOP psychology and organizational development, the new faculty member will also be expected to advise graduate students as well as chair and serve on doctoral dissertation committees. The faculty member will work effectively with a team of highly dedicated faculty members within the program, department, GSAPP, Rutgers University, and the broader academic and professional community.

Salary, start-up, and other considerations are consistent with Rutgers’ commitment to attract exceptional individuals. The new faculty member will start Fall 2025. For best consideration, please upload all application materials no later than January 17, 2025. Application review will begin January 20, 2025, and will continue until the successful candidate is hired, but timely submission of materials is recommended for full consideration.
