Full-time 41 hours per week Fixed-term until 31 March 2025 £25,575 per annum Application deadline: 12pm (midday) on 6 May 2024

Job Description

About the role:

Responsible for the unloading and rehouse of objects from across the collection as part of a major storage move project with a focus on archaeological assemblages, large objects including casts and sculptures, and textile collections.

This role is primarily technical. Problem solving is a key aspect of the role, and a flexible approach to working is essential.

Job Requirements

About you:

  • Good general education including GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Manual dexterity
  • Understanding and appreciation of materials and objects
  • Ability to work well as part of team.
  • Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
  • Demonstrable interest in aspects of the Museum’s collections
  • Practical experience of hand tools, workshop equipment, pallet trucks and/or manual stackers (Desirable)
  • Object or art handling and installation (Desirable)
