Job Summary 
As a member of the external engagement team, the Assistant Director
of Creative Media responsible for graphic designs and social media
creation and monitoring for Southern Miss Athletic teams and accounts.
This position will collaborate with the communications, marketing, and
creative content teams along with respective team coaches/personnel in
executing new ideas and initiatives with the aim to promote and market
Southern Miss Athletics. The position will help research and recommend
new ideas for strengthening our brand.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Help design promotional material for athletic teams and events, such as graphics and videos.
  • Builds a social media strategy for Southern Miss Athletics and prepares content for internal use.
  • Produces compelling and creative content pieces for selected sports including digital content, social media and features.
  • Write copy for marketing and communication material, infographics and social media posts.
  • Maintain updated records of the videos, images and guides.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications  
    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in
    journalism, marketing, sports marketing, sports management, public
    relations, communications or related field and one to two years of
    related experience.
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,
      professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
      procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and
      respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and
      the general public.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
      furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Preferred Qualifications  
    Previous work experience or training in graphic design, photography,
    digital marketing, social media, sports marketing, and/or website
