Job Summary: |
Provides high-quality clinical care to pediatric patients in Emergency Department / Urgent Care setting, as well as supporting the Child Protection Team (CPT) at Childrens Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs. CPT work includes ambulatory clinics seeing new and established patients, while also performing consultative services in the emergency department and inpatient unit setting. This role will communicate with and educate patients, caregivers, human services, law enforcement, and other agencies involved with Child Protection Team cases. Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Advanced understanding of pediatric disease and injury patterns o Understanding of and familiarity with resources to assist in making clinical decisions and diagnosis.
o Use of electronic medical record (EPIC) o Teaching of medical learners o Effectively and respectfully field calls from referring physicians to facilitate referral to site appropriate for presenting problem/service requested and transport to site.
o Interpretation of plain radiographs o Foreign body removal o Laceration repair, including vermillion border and nail bed repair (some advanced techniques can be learned on job) o Incision and drainage o Reduction of minor digit fractures or joint dislocations (can be learned on job) o Nerve blocks o Lumbar puncture o IV fluid management of electrolyte and endocrine derangements o Acute respiratory care o Intubation (ongoing yearly skills training mandatory) o Pediatric resuscitation (must maintain PALS certification and complete required annual mock resuscitations) o Procedural Sedation (do not need to hold previous credentials but must obtain credentialing at CHCO. Process in place for education and assisting with obtaining credentials.)
o Work efficiently in a fast paced, acute care environment for 8-12 hours at a time. o Promote teamwork amongst nurses, techs, learners and colleagues o Strong communication and interpersonal skills o Work a mix of days, evening, overnights, weekend and holiday shifts |

Anticipated Salary Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $227,000. The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
