Job Description:

The department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Toledo Medical Center is seeking Assistant Professor, a board certified or board eligible candidate who has completed fellowship training in Orthopedic trauma surgery. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, you will provide acute patient care in a level II Trauma Center as well as nonacute in outpatient clinical setting for patients who suffer from musculoskeletal injuries. As Assistant Professor, you will also prove mentorship and teaching to medical students and residents in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient care in orthopaedic trauma surgery.
  • Instructs and mentors current medical students, residents, and fellows within the discipline of Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Participates in conferences, conducts, and develops research grants and proposals.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the University.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD or equivalent required; successful completion of Orthopedic and trauma fellowship training
  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Orthopedics
  • Current/able to obtain licensure in the state of Ohio required; prior to beginning the position
  • Ability to provide mentorship and teaching to medical students and residents
  • Experienced working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences through the organization
