The School of Histories and Humanities at Trinity College Dublin seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in the History of Modern Architecture, based in the Department of History of Art and Architecture, to commence on 1 August 2024. Candidates can have expertise in any aspect or area of modern architecture but must demonstrate an ability to incorporate Irish architecture in their teaching and research.

The primary purpose of this post is to contribute to teaching and research in History of Modern Architecture and to administrative activities in the Department and School. The successful applicant will have a proven ability or evidence of potential to establish a strong record of research and publication in the History of Modern Architecture and will be expected to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in this field and to interdisciplinary curricular teaching, supervision, and mentoring.

The Department of History of Art and Architecture requires a candidate to take a lead role in teaching and research of History of Modern Architecture within the Department and across the School and University. In collaboration with colleagues, they will build on Trinity’s existing leadership role in History of Architecture through excellent teaching, supervision, and mentorship, and through building research projects within their expertise and across cognate disciplines.

Post status: Five Year Fixed Term, Tenure Track
