Vanderbilt University seeks an outstanding individual for a tenure-track faculty position in molecular and cellular biophysics. The candidate will be expected to develop an independent and vigorous research program, teach and mentor a diverse cohort of undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to the vitality of the University. Investigators who use single-molecule or advanced microscopy approaches that complement existing departmental and institutional research strengths are particularly encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor jointly in the Department of Biological Sciences (https://as.vanderbilt.edu/biological-sciences/) and the Department of Physics and Astronomy (https://as.vanderbilt.edu/physics-astronomy/), with opportunities for secondary affiliation with departments in the School of Medicine Basic Sciences (https://medschool.vanderbilt.edu/basic-sciences/) and the School of Engineering (https://engineering.vanderbilt.edu/). As a new faculty member, the candidate will play an integral role within the trans-institutional Molecular Biophysics Training Program (https://medschool.vanderbilt.edu/mbgp/) and will benefit from collaborations with a diverse set of internationally recognized programs, centers, and institutes.

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D., no later than August 1, 2025, and preferably have one or more years of postdoctoral research experience. Top candidates will demonstrate excellence in research, highly effective teaching and mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students, and a desire to contribute to a collaborative academic community.
