Position Description:

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at McMaster University invites applications for a three-year Contractually Limited Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Statistics and Data Science. The anticipated starting date for this position is August 1, 2026. The teaching commitment for this position will be six undergraduate courses per year. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Statistics, or in a related area with a primary research focus on Statistics, and preference will be given to candidates with a proven record of successful teaching in Statistics and/or Data Science at the university level.

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics currently has 37 full-time faculty members and approximately 80 graduate students and 15 postdoctoral fellows. More information about the Department can be found at: www.math.mcmaster.ca.
