The Department of History at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia invites applications for a Probationary Tenure-Track position in 20th Century U.S. History at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2025. All subspecialties are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be required to teach U.S. surveys along with more focussed classes. Applicants must have a PhD in hand by the start date of the appointment and demonstrate potential for excellence as a teacher and a scholar. The position and salary are subject to final budgetary approval.
Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching evaluations, a sample of published work, and the names of three potential referees. Letters of reference and a teaching dossier will only be sought after the files are reviewed.
