WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Applications are invited for a tenure track position in psychology. The successful candidate will have a background in counselling or clinical psychology and must be able to teach courses in introductory psychology and supervise honours students. Along with courses in the candidate’s area of expertise they should be able to teach amongst the following: Community Psychology (Psyc 337), Health Psychology (Psyc 359), Communication and Counselling Skills (Psyc409), Studies in Clinical Psychology (Psyc 411), Psychology of Trauma (Psyc 413), Current Issues in Psychopathology (Psyc 455). This is a research stream appointment and the teaching load is 3/3.

As the largest and fastest growing undergraduate program at StMU, the Psychology department consists of approximately 300 students and 15 faculty. We currently offer degrees in the following: a 3-year BA in Psychology, a 4-year BA Psychology Major, and a (competitive) 4-year BA Psychology Honours.

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES: (point form descriptions)
•PhD in Psychology (must have by date of appointment)
•Previous teaching experience.
•Record of research and publication or strong potential.
•Ability to promote, or at least respect, the institution’s Catholic mission and identity
•Ability to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as Truth and Reconciliation.
