The Department of English in the College of Arts, Languages & Letters at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa invites applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track, full-time assistant professorship in Creative Writing, to begin Fall 2025, pending availability of funds.

The fundamental mission of the Department of English is to develop students’ critical reading, writing, and creative skills through the study of various literatures in the English language, composition and rhetoric, and creative writing, with a particular emphasis on the cultural diversity of our location in the Pacific. Our faculty members are committed to quality research and scholarship, generous public service, and exemplary teaching at the BA, MA, and PhD levels. We are looking for a talented creative writer working primarily in poetry who will teach Creative Writing classes and advise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, maintain an active publishing profile, and support the department’s mission through engaged service.
