Position Summary

The School of Public Health (SPH) at the University of Memphis (UofM) is seeking to hire a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Teaching in areas of health communication, health informatics, digital health, health equity, health policy, public health interventions, and Health program evaluation to join our interdisciplinary team of faculty.

Successful candidates are expected to take a lead role in teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, student advising, enhancing existing educational programs, continuing with their research program, and collaborating within the school, university, and with external partners.

Minimum Position Qualifications

Candidates for this position must hold a relevant doctoral degree (PhD or DrPH) in public health or a related discipline and meet academic requirements for consideration as an Assistant Professor.

Special Conditions

A preferred candidate should:

  • have a record of teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in public health or a related discipline.
  • advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the Division and the SPH.
  • have commitment to excellence in multi-modal undergraduate and graduate instruction and innovative pedagogies.
  • have an excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively work with others.
  • develop and maintain an active research and academic publication agenda.
