About the position
The Faculty of Education invites applications for a Probationary Tenure Track position in the Department of Educational Studies in the areas of Indigenous Educational Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment, subject to budgetary approval, will commence as early as January 1, 2025.

Qualifications
• Preference will be given to candidates who possess a doctorate (or ABD) in Indigenous education or related field. Those who demonstrate deep understanding of lived experiences with Indigenous knowledge systems, community-based practice, Indigenous language(s), and Indigenous education will be viewed as possessing equivalent qualifications of a doctorate;
• The successful candidate will teach a combination of undergraduate, professional (Teacher Education) and/or graduate courses, supervise graduate students, and contribute to the development of courses in Indigenous education. Candidates are encouraged to submit a teaching dossier that provides evidence of excellence in teaching and research, broadly defined;
• The successful candidate will have an active research agenda (or provide evidence of the potential to develop and maintain a research agenda with a focus on Indigenous education, Indigenous research, and/or Indigenous Teacher Education);
• The successful candidate will have established Indigenous connections and have demonstrated leadership potential with Indigenous communities;
• Experience teaching/facilitating within an educational and/or Indigenous community context;
• Proficiency with digital technology and/or online teaching and learning tools is an asset;
• The successful candidate is expected to have lived experiences of Indigenous world views, cultures and values.
