Job Summary
 

The Assistant Provost for Fiscal Affairs promotes the University’s academic vision and strategic plan by providing strategic leadership, direction, administrative and fiscal oversight of research, evaluation, analysis, and expertise; and makes policy and procedure recommendations.


Responsibilities
 

  • Manage, analyze, and administer budget following Board of Regents policy to maximize academic program efficiency and effectiveness  
  • Oversee strategic budget planning and management of ongoing accountability measures for budget allocation for Academic Affairs units  
  • Manage faculty, staff, and Integrated Postsecondary Education Data Systems (IPEDS) related data Oversee OneUSG data records  
  • Monitor grant expenditures, research expenses and systematic recording at department and college levels  
  • Forecast, manage, and monitor distribution of premium tuition, online tuition, summer incentive tuition, and academic revenue streams  
  • Monitor curriculum inventory files  
  • Serve on Division Leadership Team  


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in business, accounting or financial management

Required Experience

  • Six (6) or more years of work experience managing budgets
  • Supervisory experience


Preferred Qualifications
 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with Academic Affairs budgets
  • Leadership experience in Higher Education


Proposed Salary
 

 $79,100 –  $134,500

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
  • Ability to collaborate with other units within community to insure accuracy of financial transactions in support of University and Controller’s Mission  
  • Ability to comply with university document security measures  
  • Ability to effectively manage/supervise and evaluate assigned staff and provide leadership  
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships  
  • Ability to provide customers with accurate and effective information or data  

KNOWLEDGE

  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University’s mission for student success
  • Understanding of higher education budgets and fiscal analysis
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills  
  • Knowledge of management and supervision practices and techniques and knowledge of accounting and financial management practices and principles and in use and development of automated/computer systems 

SKILLS

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
  • Demonstrated skill in fiscal analysis, budget reporting and organization
