The Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington invites applications for an opening for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor (not tenure-track), to begin in September 2025. The appointment is for a renewable three-year term, with the possibility of promotion to Associate Teaching Professor. Our goal is to recruit a strong candidate who will build a long and successful career that advances the teaching mission of the Department. Duties include teaching, related department activities (e.g., course coordination, supervision of teaching assistants), and departmental service. The teaching load is two courses on average for each of the terms in a nine-month academic year. The Department supports wide and diverse research interests and collaborations.

Washington State Law requires that this ad list a binding salary range. The base salary range for this position is $7,778 – $11,112 per month on a 9-month basis ($70,002-$100,008 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Applicants are required to have a PhD or foreign equivalent in applied mathematics or a related field, as well as three years of experience teaching applied mathematics.
