The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington, Tacoma invites applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor in Management to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in management. This is a full-time, teaching-track position with an initial term of three years that is eligible for reappointment upon successful reviews. This position is not eligible for tenure. The teaching course load is 8 classes per academic year, with an expected start date of September 16, 2025.
The base salary range for this position will be $9,445 – $10,000 per month ($85,005-$90,000 per academic year) for the 9-month service period, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. All faculty at the University of Washington engage in teaching, scholarship, and service within their school, the University, and their professional community. As teaching-track faculty, this position has an emphasis on instruction, and the successful applicant will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level management courses with an emphasis on organizational behavior and managerial communications topics. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in teaching and scholarship that strengthens and complements the Milgard School’s core values of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in pedagogy, teaching, and practice. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in multiple modalities, including online, hybrid and in-person, in an urban-serving campus environment with a diverse student body, many of whom are first generation college students.

Candidates must have a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in management or equivalent field. A Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in management or related field is acceptable but not required. Prior experience in teaching university-level undergraduate and/or graduate management classes is required.
