Purpose of the position

Under the supervision of Editorial Production Manager and guided by the strategy of MSF Japan as well as that of the Communications Department, create effective and engaging audio-visual contents and web articles, and undertake relevant tasks to help achieve MSF Japan’s communications objectives which ultimately contribute to assisting people in need of healthcare.

Objectives

Through audio-visual content production, and effective and strategic dissemination of audio-visual communications materials, increase MSF’s reach, awareness and engagement among the Japanese society to contribute to achieving strategic communications objectives of MSF Japan, and ultimately the mission of MSF movement and MSF Japan.

Requirements of the position

Based in Japan (Commutable to MSF Japan Office in Waseda)

Qualifications and requirements

Essential

  • Genuine interest in and strong commitment to the medical humanitarian principles of MSF
  • Ability to translate and subtitle audio-visual materials
  • Knowledge and skills in creating original audio-visual contents including concept development, scenario making, video shooting, editing, dubbing and/or adding voice over.
  • Knowledge and proven skills in the usage of audio-visual editing software such as Adobe Premier and After Effects
  • Knowledge about managing video dissemination platforms including YouTube
  • Strategic thinking to expand the reach of MSF’s AV content
  • Sound editorial judgment required in the production process of audio-visual contents
  • At least two years of valid working experience with an organization
  • Efficiency in task and time management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate a teamwork and intersectional projects
  • Computer literacy
  • Native level Japanese skills and strong proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Working experience in the movie, audio-visual industry, or in journalism.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and skills in the usage of DTP software such as Photoshop, illustrator
  • Knowledge of and/or working experience in the humanitarian aid sector
  • MSF field experience
