Bar Supervisor / Duty Manager

Job Summary

The John Peel Centre for Creative Arts CIC (JPC) is a volunteer-led live music and arts venue based in Stowmarket, Suffolk. We are seeking a bar supervisor to help extend our night-time offering in our bar at 11 Market Place.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have previous bar management experience, barista, cocktail and wine knowledge is also an advantage. Must possess leadership skills, a love and preferably a knowledge of music, with a can do attitude, and excellent customer service skills.

Hours: Part-time Thursday, Friday and Saturday 22.5 Hours per week. £24,000 Pro Rata

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the hospitality sector, in a bar and/or live music setting.
  • An interest or experience in wines; origin, tasting notes, and pairing ideas.
  • Excellent understanding of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to the John Peel Centre vision and ethos.
  • Bar management/Supervising: 1 year, Customer service: 2 years
