Bioinformatics Engineer in Mississauga, Ontario

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Bioinformatics Engineer to join an innovative team. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing bioinformatics pipelines to support cutting-edge diagnostics and research initiatives. This person will be working closely with bioinformatics developers testing new algorithms. Note that this person will not be creating these algorithms and much more supporting them by designing test cases, creating data searches and developing python-based automations

Responsibilities will Include

-Designing, documenting, and executing verification tests

-Design test cases and create data searches

-Develop Python based test automations

-Documenting processes, writing reports, and presenting findings

-Note: this person will not be creating the algorithms

Skills and Requirements

-B.S. or M.S. or PhD in Computational Biology or Bioinformatics or Biomedical engineering or related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in working with NGS data and bioinformatics pipeline verification.

• Experience designing, documenting and executing verification tests.

• 2+ years Proficiency in Python

• Comfortable with AWS, and Linux Shell -Familiarity with Java and Bash -Familiarity with Java and Bash null
