The Business Analyst will function as an interface between product owners, business stakeholders and IT project teams to identify business requirements and translate these into functional design specifications. Project Management skills are required as sometimes required to play both BA and PM roles on smaller projects.

Essential Duties

  • Gain sufficient understanding of various IT applications to translate business requirements into functional design specifications.
  • Work closely with product owners and business stakeholders to understand their objectives and requirements for the prospect-facing websites.
  • Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops to gather detailed requirements.
  • Serve as a conduit of information on IT infrastructure, capabilities, limitations, systems to other departments.
  • Provide and promote internal communication between IT, and other functional groups within Strategic Education.
  • Have a deep understanding of Content Management Systems. Adobe Experience Manager and its capabilities a plus.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to AEM and prospect-facing websites.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on how to leverage AEM features for the best user experience.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on how to integrate AEM with a headless CMS for optimal content management.
  • Document business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Create clear and concise documentation for developers and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in business process enhancement meetings.
  • Provide Project Management for small to medium sized projects. This includes preparing project plans, managing issue and risk logs and mitigation strategies, preparing budgets, facilitating status meetings, managing project resources, and preparing and auditing any necessary documentation.
  • Craft clear and concise user stories that effectively communicate business requirements and technical needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize user stories based on business value and technical feasibility.
  • Facilitate workshops dedicated to defining technical user stories, focusing on detailed technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and dependencies.

Job Skills

  • Experience with prospect facing digital web properties.
  • Experience planning and detailing requirements to build components and widgets for customer facing websites.
  • Experience with content management systems; Adobe Experience Manager is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of business analysis concepts, tools, and techniques including Scrum.
  • Proven ability to practice a variety of techniques to ensure complete requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of dynamic websites and content management required.
  • Must be proficient in gathering, documenting and communicating business requirements to business and technical resources. Experience gathering and documenting system requirements.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Excellent ability to organize information, manage tasks and projects and use available tools to effectively contribute to organization.
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required. The ability to express oneself effectively within groups and in one-to-one conversations. Conveys information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents. Creates an atmosphere in which timely and high quality input/out flows smoothly between self and others.
  • Must have previous project management experience managing small to medium sized projects.
  • Ability to work at a computer up to 8 hours a day.

Work Experience

  • 3+ years in a business analyst role.

  • Must be able to travel 0-10% of time.
  • Must be able to lift 20lbs.
  • Typical office setting.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant
  • Access information using a computer.

  • Strong mental acuity
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
