With 118 beds and more than 400 physicians on its medical staff, Pali Momi Medical Center offers a full range of services for the communities of Central and West O’ahu. The hospital has delivered many medical firsts for the community, including Central and West O’ahu’s only interventional cardiac catheterization unit to detect and treat heart disease, a fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite, a comprehensive women’s center, CT scan and MRI services, and the state’s first retina center. Pali Momi is the only facility in Hawai’i that uses a team triage approach in its emergency room, where patients are promptly evaluated by an emergency physician.

The Thoracic Surgery team at Pali Momi Medical Center is committed to providing professional, high quality care to patients and their families. Pali Momi Medical Center surgeons perform a variety of general procedures as well as vascular, thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. Vascular surgeons specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the arteries and veins, and have expertise in blockages and aneurysms of the arteries in the neck, abdomen and extremities. Cardiac surgeons diagnose and surgically treat heart disease, including performing cardiac bypass grafts, correct aortic aneurysms, implant cardiac pacemakers or defibrillators to treat cardiac arrhythmia and replace defective heart valves.

If you are detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills, you form part of the team that is responsible for the day-to-day operation and efficiency of the Thoracic Surgery department. As the Business Office Assistant, you will support the general operations of the Thoracic Surgery department, including functions related to patient scheduling, registration, charge capture and data entry. Minimum qualifications: High School or equivalent. One (1) year of general clerical or secretarial experience in a position with public contact.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree in Business, Medical Technology or related field. Knowledge of medical terminology. One (1) year of experience in a physician’s office or outpatient clinic setting. Experience with compliation and interpretation of statistics.
