STEM Teacher, BYU Child & Family Studies Lab

Do you love teaching children ages 5-9? The BYU Child & Family Studies Lab (CFSL) offers weekly classes during the summer on topics in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), and we need licensed public-school teachers to lead these classes. Apply today!

 

What you’ll do in this position:

  • Teach children ages 5-9 via one morning and one afternoon class, Monday through Friday, in the summer (June – early August).
  • Plan lessons based on the weekly STEM topic, incorporating appropriate Utah State core curriculum, and document learning for each parent.
  • Clean the teaching area on a daily and a weekly basis.
  • Manage and order needed supplies for each week’s lessons.
  • Teach content effectively.
  • Communicate with parents and oversee guidance and safety of children.

 

What qualifies you for this role:

  • Required:
    • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
    • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education
    • 3 years of experience as a certified public school teacher
    • Ability to each and manage a class of 20 children
    • Ability to mentor BYU students assigned as support teachers
