Job Summary

Lead after-school public speaking and confidence clubs for children aged 8 to 13 in Twickenham and across London. Ideal for drama graduates and students. £35 for each 1-hour session, with full training provided.

Job Description

Configur Academy runs after-school clubs for children aged 8 to 13 in Twickenham, and we are expanding into new schools and new areas of London. We are looking for drama graduates and students, performers and others who are confident in front of a group and enjoy working with children to lead our clubs.

About the role
You would lead Rise to Lead, our public speaking, confidence and leadership club. The children work in small teams, spend a good part of each session on their feet, and take on a new challenge every week, finishing each term with a showcase for their parents. If you enjoy a good mystery, you could also lead The Detective Club, where teams work through a new case each week.

You could lead a club in Twickenham, or at a school or in an area of London you know well. Every session is fully planned for you, and you will be trained before you lead a class of your own. Training runs during November and December 2026, on afternoons in and around Twickenham.

Hours
Each club meets once a week for 1 hour, straight after school in term time or on a Saturday afternoon. That is a guaranteed 1 hour a week in term time for each club you lead, and you are welcome to lead more than one club if you would like more hours.

Pay
£35 for each 1-hour session, rising to £40 once your club has 10 children.

Who we are looking for
We would love to hear from drama, acting and performing arts graduates and students, and from anyone with experience of youth theatre, drama workshops, tutoring or coaching children. What matters most is how you are with children: calm, warm, and able to bring a quiet child into the room as well as settle a lively one.

Job Requirements

Confident in front of a group, and warm, calm and encouraging with children.
Experience of youth theatre, drama workshops, tutoring or coaching children is welcome.
The right to work in the UK.
An enhanced DBS certificate for working with children, or happy to apply for one.
