Climate Change Officer

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council

We have a multi-billion-pound property portfolio. You have the skills to take it to the
next level.

In Welwyn Hatfield we don’t just talk big: we’re the biggest landlord in the area, with 9,000
rented and 1,300 leasehold homes. Our multi-million-pound regeneration projects include the
development of leisure, industrial, retail and operational sites, and we’re investing £150
million in people’s homes over the next five years with a target of being net zero by 2030.

We’re looking for ambitious people to help us make an even greater impact. You’ll join a
forward-thinking organisation with a new Chief Executive and senior management team in place
and will enjoy excellent benefits, including flexible working, a local government pension, and
generous annual leave entitlement.

In this key position, you will realise our commitment to environmental sustainability as you
develop projects and initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, increase biodiversity, promote
public transport and improve our environmental footprint. To be equal to the challenge, you
should join us with expert knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy and carbon
reduction issues, backed by deep awareness of current legislation and emerging technologies.
