The Division of Public Partnerships (PPD) works to enhance UNICEF’s role as a partner of choice for advancing children’s rights with governments and public entities worldwide. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in PPD Seoul’s operations and the United Nations system. Under the guidance of the Advocacy and Communication Specialist, the intern will support the office’s advocacy, communication, and visibility initiatives.

Under the supervision of the Advocacy and Communication Specialist, PPD Seoul, the intern will:

  • Support the team in enhancing donor visibility and promoting UNICEF’s advocacy messages by gathering and organizing information for key stakeholders and media.
  • Collect visibility materials such as press releases, high-resolution images, human interest stories, social media posts, B-roll footage, and interviews.
  • Organize and maintain a database or library of collected materials for easy access and future use.
  • Review and curate collected materials, ensuring they meet quality standards and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Update and maintain the PPD Seoul office’s website (www.unicef.org/gok) and social media accounts as needed.
  • Support the conceptualization, planning, coordination, execution, digital content creation, and monitoring and evaluation of digital initiatives.
  • Assist in translating UNICEF messages, press releases, and other publications.
  • Assist in coordinating all tasks related to high-level visits from UNICEF headquarters, regional offices, and country offices.
  • Provide logistical support for events, consultations, and workshops, including coordinating bookings and managing schedules.
  • Help monitor press coverage related to Government of Korea-funded humanitarian grants, children’s rights, and domestic issues in both South and North Korea.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • Currently enrolled in a university or a graduate school or those who graduated from schools within two years. Professional experiences are desirable.
  • Availability to work at least 4 days per week for up to 6 months.
  • Interested in UNICEF’s areas of operation such as child rights, child protection, education, health, nutrition, water and sanitation, gender, and so on.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of international cooperation as well as humanitarian and development assistance.
  • Experience of translating communication materials is highly desirable.   
  • Experience in public relations and/or event management is an asset.
  • Experience of managing a website and social media is an asset.
  • A high level of proficiency in both written and oral languages of English and Korean is required.
  • Ability to work with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
