Hiring Unit:
Department of Biology (QCBS)
Position Summary:

  • Under the guidance of the QCBS Manager, develop communications plans for projects, initiatives, and events;

  • Produces the QCBS newsletter and monitors social media;

  • Maintains websites, including developing information architecture and writing and formatting;

  • Content in keeping with established tone and visual guidelines;

  • Create, write and/or edit a variety of communications materials, such as ebulletins, brochures, posters, PowerPoint presentations, and official announcements.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and French (mandatory);

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, problem-solve and work independently and as part of a team ;

  • Graphic design skills and knowledge of tools for graphic design;

  • Demonstrated ability to translate scientific, technical information and complex concepts and data into accessible, audience-specific materials ;

  • Knowledge of internet and web-based technologies and applications and their importance to internal and external communications ;

  • Attention to detail required to prepare documents that are consistently of the highest quality in terms of content, format, and design

  • Bachelor’s Degree an asset

  • 1 Year Related Experience

****Must be accepted in the Work Study Program at McGill University****

Minimum Education and Experience:

High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience

Hourly Salary:

(AMUSE C) $15.82
