Location: The position is location-independent: For a Kenyan national, role will be based in Nairobi, while for non-Kenyan candidate it will be a remote role.

Job Summary:
Faith to Action Network seeks an experienced Communications Officer to lead its network and movement-building initiatives, including focusing on managing the organization’s website and social media channels. This role will amplify the Network’s impact, foster member engagement, and enhance the visibility of its mission and programs. Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating with the Advocacy and External Relations team, the Communications Officer will oversee strategic communication efforts to drive movement building and expand the Network’s reach. This position is offered for 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on funding.
Key Responsibilities
Movement-Building Communications and Engagement
o Implement communication strategies to strengthen Faith to Action Network’s movement-building initiatives.
o Enhance member engagement by managing consistent and impactful communication across the Network.
o Produce and share compelling stories, updates, and reports that highlight the Network’s activities and achievements.
o Promote inclusive communication strategies that reflect the Network’s diversity and values, including using AI-based translation tools to engage multilingual audiences effectively.
Website Management
o Take charge of the Faith to Action Network website, ensuring it remains dynamic, user-friendly, and up to date.
o Manage both the public-facing and members-only sections of the website, maintaining high-quality content and technical functionality.
o Publish 3-5 engaging news items weekly that reflect the Network’s activities and priorities.
Social Media Management
o Strategically manage the Network’s social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), ensuring active engagement with audiences.
o Post 5-10 messages weekly, using compelling content to highlight events, advocacy initiatives, and member contributions.
o Monitor social media metrics and adjust strategies to optimize reach and impact.
Events and Advocacy Communications
o Coordinate communications for events, conferences, workshops, and external speaking engagements for staff, particularly the CEO and the Advocacy and External Relations team.
o Use all communication platforms to promote and document events, increasing their visibility and impact.
o Collaborate with other communications staff within the Advocacy and External Relations team and across the Network to ensure consistent branding, messaging, and tone.
o Manage the contracting of communication services, including photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and website hosts, in line with the organization’s procurement manual.
Media Engagement
o Support the CEO and Advocacy and External Relations team in drafting public statements, press releases, and advocacy messages.
o Ensure wide dissemination of public communications through strategic media outreach and partnerships.
Requirements
o Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
o Minimum of 3+ years of experience in communications, digital media, or public relations roles with a focus on content creation, media relations, or strategic communications.
o Proven experience in movement-building communications, advocacy, or similar roles.
o Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills in English; bilingual English French capabilities are a strong asset.
o Expertise in website and social media management, with a proven track record of engagement campaigns.
o Experience coordinating communications for advocacy, public relations, or network-based organizations.
o Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
