Part of the Nature Networks Fund (round 2), delivered by the Heritage Fund, on behalf of the
Welsh Government with Natural Resources Wales.
As Gwent Wildlife Trust’s Community Ecologist, you will engage, enthuse, and empower a diverse
audience to take action for nature. The role will support and upskill individuals, to enable
both direct volunteering with GWT, as well as facilitating community-led action for nature.
This role works alongside Nature Recovery Officers, Senior Conservation Grazing Officer, Senior
Evidence Officer and reports to the Evidence Manager. Together this team will deliver exemplary
management and monitoring of Gwent’s wild spaces, with volunteers and communities forming an
integral part in the delivery of this.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised and talented communicator, passionate
about enabling communities to take action to reverse the nature and climate emergencies.
To be successful in this role, you will have good ecological knowledge, and enjoy communicating
with a wide range of people and be able to disseminate information to them in the most
appropriate and engaging format.
