At Hampstead Theatre, we create progressive, thought-provoking and original theatre, working with the best creative talent. We are looking for a talented Company Manager to oversee the stage management teams across both spaces at Hampstead Theatre.

Job Description

The Company Manager will be the Company Stage Manager for alternating productions in the main house and be responsible for the hiring of stage management teams for other productions.

They will be responsible for the general welfare of the Companies and managing the work of the Stage Management department across all productions.

Job Requirements

  • Previous professional stage management experience, preferably in a producing theatre.
  • Previous experience of working with and supporting creative teams.
  • Experience of sourcing, making and finding props
  • Awareness of Health & Safety issues relevant to the role.
  • Highly organised, with an ability to prioritise and multi-task.
  • Flexible, responsive and a team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience managing budgets.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience of running technical rehearsals.
  • Ability to remain calm whilst working under pressure.
  • Available to work scheduled evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to carry out the physical demands of the job.
  • Ability to operate with diplomacy, tact and empathy and give concise and clear instructions.
  • A transparent and open approach.
  • An understanding of and the ability to advocate for Hampstead Theatre’s values and objectives.
