The founders of the Africa Youths for peace and Development having seen harsh realities which are being experienced by the entire continent as a result of war and the consequent violence galore which follow, decided to form the organization with the vision of continental integration for peace and development for youths in the continent. It is the belief of this organization that violence achieves no meaningful goal.

Africa Youth for Peace and Development organization was formed 1995 and was finally registered in the year 2000 under the ministry of youth and sport in Sierra Leone, as a voluntary, youth development organization that aims at organizing, empowering and creating opportunities for youths and Youths groups that are in difficult circumstances.

To achieve a peaceful, integrated, and developed Africa where every young person, regardless of their socio-economic background, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.

MISSION

AYPAD is committed to empowering and advocating for youth across Africa by creating sustainable opportunities for development and social integration. Through capacity building, education, sports, and cultural activities, we strive to uplift the lives of disadvantaged and marginalized youth, fostering a generation of leaders dedicated to peace and positive societal change.

GOALS

1. To provide education, training, and advance employment opportunities that empower youth, particularly the marginalized and disadvantaged.

2. To promote peace and social cohesion by engaging young people in activities that foster understanding, tolerance, and unity.

3. To facilitate sustainable agricultural practices and environmental initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being of communities.

4. To strengthen the capacity of youth to advocate for their rights and actively participate in community development

Context

Africa Youth for Peace and Development (AYPAD) has long been committed to empowering African youth and professionals through capacity building, education, and sustainable development initiatives.

The Trainer International Project is part of a larger effort to address global knowledge gaps by equipping professionals with advanced research tools and fostering a culture of innovation.

Volunteer contributions play a pivotal role in this initiative. Trainers, coordinators, and support staff collaborate to design, deliver, and evaluate courses, ensuring they meet international standards while addressing local needs. The project also emphasizes digital learning and artificial intelligence integration, aligning with contemporary educational trends and creating a robust platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration. Through the Trainer International Project, AYPAD demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development, empowering individuals, and advancing equitable global progress.

As part of the Africa Youth for Peace and Development (AYPAD) initiatives, Trainer International Project furthers the organization’s goals of promoting youth empowerment, advancing knowledge-sharing, and fostering sustainable development. It empowers participants with critical research skills, enabling them to address societal challenges, innovate solutions, and actively contribute to the betterment of their communities. The Trainer International Project contributes directly to SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By offering specialized skills in research methods, biostatistics, and data analysis, the project fosters lifelong learning opportunities, enhances the global research landscape, and builds capacity among researchers and professionals. Its inclusive approach ensures equitable access to education, particularly targeting underrepresented groups, including women, youth, and professionals in low-resource settings.

The Trainer International Project advances AYPAD”s mission by prioritizing youth capacity building through hands-on training. Young researchers are equipped with critical skills to excel in academic and professional fields, empowering them to contribute effectively to societal development. By targeting diverse participants, the project promotes inclusive development, ensuring that marginalized groups have access to high-quality training and resources. Key Responsibilities

We are seeking 2 online volunteer to Conduct Training on the use of Use of Epidata in Data entry.

As an online volunteer, you will be granted training material into three Parts.
Part (A): Notes Word Document
Part (B): Lecture Slides PowerPoint
Part (C): Marking Guide Word Document

Part (A): Notes Word Document: The Word document will have the
following
1. Lecture Notes (Text, Images, Tables & Illustrative Videos -Paste a YouTube Link)
2. One Open Ended Discussion Question.
3. One Take-home Question for Assignment.
4. 25 Multiple-choice questions.

Part (B): Lecture Slides PowerPoint: Teaching slides will have the following
1. Summarized Lecture Notes (Text, Images, Tables & Illustrative Videos -Paste a YouTube Link) 20 slides
2. One Open Ended Discussion Question.
3. One blank slide (5 minutes break).
4. Reference Materials(References and their links)

Part (C): Marking Guide Word Document: Marking Guide will have the following
1. 25 Multiple-choice questions as presented in the Canvas Notes Document.
2. Highlight The Most correct Answer(s)

Prior to the assignment, the Online Volunteer will receive an orientation session, during which they will receive guidance on the task and provided the documentation, information and references required to complete it.
You will be allocated one of the modules in research tools and software to deliver over.

Required Skills and Experience

1. Academic Writing and Content Development
Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging lecture notes.
Proficiency in structuring academic documents, including incorporating text, images, tables, and illustrative YouTube links.
Experience creating educational materials tailored to diverse learning styles.

2. Instructional Design
Familiarity with designing lecture slides that summarize key points and incorporate multimedia elements.
Expertise in structuring teaching slides for optimal learner engagement and clarity.
Understanding of effective teaching strategies, including the use of breaks and discussion prompts.

3. Assessment Design and Marking Guide Development
Proficiency in crafting open-ended discussion questions and multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
Skills in creating accurate marking guides with clear explanations of the most correct answers.
Ability to align assessments with lecture content and learning objectives.

4. Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to integrate multimedia (e.g., images, tables, YouTube links) into educational documents and slides.
Familiarity with Canvas or other Learning Management Systems (LMS) is an added advantage.

5. Subject Matter Expertise
In-depth knowledge or familiarity with the module”s subject area to ensure accurate and relevant content.
Ability to research and reference credible academic materials appropriately.

6. Communication and Collaboration
Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare professional-grade materials.
Ability to align with Trainer International Project standards and objectives.

7. Time Management
Capacity to meet deadlines while delivering high-quality work.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage the creation of multiple materials simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree with expertise in research or related discipline such as MPH.
Previous experience in delivering lecture materials or working in educational settings.
Familiarity with international academic standards and practices.
Desired: PhD

You must have published at least one paper in a recognised journal.
