Position: Dental Assistant
Summary: The Dental Assistant is a member of the multi-disciplinary oral health care team with responsibility for patient exam preparation and assisting clinical staff.
Required Skills:
- Considerable knowledge and skill obtained through experience and/or training to be able to provide appropriate care to all clinic patients.
- Advanced knowledge of dental record keeping practices including documentation in an electronic health/dental record.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment, to recognize problems outside of this role and refer appropriately.
- Knowledge of dental and medical terminology
- Physical capability to interact with others and perform mobility requirements of the position
- Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment including scanner, computer.
- Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and ability to access the internet.
- Ability to be helpful and sensitive to the needs of all employees, while concurrently respecting corporate policies, procedures, and priorities.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Ability to communicate job-related information to individuals and small groups.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; plan own work schedule effectively and multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes-hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to concentrate in sometimes hectic and stressful settings.
- Ability to read and understand written materials.
- Must regard work as confidential.
- Must have current driver’s license, qualify for commercial vehicle insurance and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with Axis Health System’ insurance agency.
- Occasional travel required.
- Ability to take on additional duties when necessary.
Wage:
$20.00-$22.05/hr
Benefits: Accrued sick leave and optional medical benefits provided by Express Employment during probationary period. Full benefits once hired on by company.
Schedule:
Full time. Evaluation hire.
Monday-Friday 8am-6pm
