We are looking for a trainee dental assistant to join our team. The role will be full time, with on-the-job training to work towards completing a Certificate III in Dental Assisting. This opportunity would suit anyone with a passion for the health care industry looking for an entry level position.

The successful candidate must be able to cover both practice locations:

• Hobart: 149 Macquarie Street, Hobart, TAS, 7000
• Rosny Park: 26 Bayfield Street, Rosny Park, TAS, 7018

Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you will be trained to ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care by:

• Provide chairside assistance, anticipating the needs of dentists and patients, and ensuring a seamless dental experience.
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilise instruments, and ensure all equipment is in optimal condition for use.
• Take accurate patient records, including dental histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to infection control protocols and safety regulations.
• Reception duties – meeting & greeting patients, general enquiries, record keeping and processing payments.

Qualifications

As our successful applicant, you will demonstrate:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to empathise and connect with patients.
• Strong time management and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in computer systems and software.
