Job Description Job Title: Dental Assistant Reports to: Dental Practice Manager Department: Dental FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Grade: 5 Version Date: August 2022 General Responsibilities: The Dental Assistant is responsible for providing hands-on support to the Dentist, completing preparation work to efficiently care for patients and assist during dental procedures. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent X-Ray Certification (or completion within 6 months of hire) BLS Certification (or completion within 6 months of hire) Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. Good written and verbal communication skills. Consistently professional appearance and attitude. Able to provide great patient care. Sign on bonus incentive: This position offers a $2,000 sign on bonus, which will be paid in two parts. The first half paid after successful completion of 6 months of employment, and the second half after successful completion of 12 months of employment. Preferred Qualifications: 1 year experience as a dental assistant. Candidates who do not meet all of the preferred qualifications are encouraged to apply. Significant Job Functions: Sterilization of dental instruments Setting up dental procedures Taking alginate impressions Ability to take clear x-ray films Document vitals and chief complaints in chart Document notes in chart Document treatment plan in chart Physical Effort/ Environment: The duties of this position are performed onsite at a Thundermist location. This position requires the use of fingers and hand manipulation using instruments and dental equipment. On feet most of the day. Work Schedule Demands: As determined with department hiring needs. Must be available for overtime, including nights and weekends, when necessary. Communication Skills: This position requires the ability to verbally communicate with patients.
