Position Details:

• Conduct dental examinations for patients seeking care
• Diagnose dental conditions and prescribe appropriate therapy
• Carry out or supervise therapy as necessary
• Refer individuals for specialty consultation or care as needed
• Educate individuals on oral health conditions, general health promotion, and prevention of oral disease
• Maintain accurate patient-dentist transaction records in medical/dental records
• Participate in medical/dental staff meetings and quality assurance programs
• Assist in providing continuing education, on-the-job training, and orientation for center staff
• Provide technical assistance and health education to the community
• Work under the general supervision of the Dental Director
• Perform clinical work with definitive quality evaluated through the Quality Assurance Program
• Handle a variety of dental medicine tasks including education, prevention, cure, and rehabilitation
• Utilize various dental materials, equipment, and radiation in dental procedures
• Purpose of patient contact: Educate, influence, and motivate individuals to accept recommended medical/dental therapies

Requirements:

• Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from an approved school of dentistry
• Licensed in the state of Louisiana
• This role requires a skilled dentist capable of providing comprehensive dental care, contributing to staff training and education, and engaging with the community to promote oral health.
