Conduct dental examinations for patients seeking care
Diagnose dental conditions and prescribe appropriate therapy
Carry out or supervise therapy as necessary
Refer individuals for specialty consultation or care as needed
Educate individuals on oral health conditions, general health promotion, and prevention of oral disease
Maintain accurate patient-dentist transaction records in medical/dental records
Participate in medical/dental staff meetings and quality assurance programs
Assist in providing continuing education, on-the-job training, and orientation for center staff
Provide technical assistance and health education to the community
Work under the general supervision of the Dental Director
Perform clinical work with definitive quality evaluated through the Quality Assurance Program
Handle a variety of dental medicine tasks including education, prevention, cure, and rehabilitation
Utilize various dental materials, equipment, and radiation in dental procedures
Purpose of patient contact: Educate, influence, and motivate individuals to accept recommended medical/dental therapies
Requirements:
Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from an approved school of dentistry
Licensed in the state of Louisiana
This role requires a skilled dentist capable of providing comprehensive dental care, contributing to staff training and education, and engaging with the community to promote oral health.
