Developing a Zero Trust Security Architecture for IoT-IIoT Networks

Canterbury Christ Church University

Project Overview

The rapid growth of IoT/IIoT systems, characterised by heterogeneous devices, complex network topologies, and diverse communication protocols, poses significant cybersecurity challenges. Traditional security approaches often fall short in addressing the unique requirements of these systems, such as resource constraints and real-time communications. This PhD project aims to develop a Zero Trust security framework optimised for IoT/IIoT networks. The framework will adapt to real-time threats with dynamic security policies and will be validated through real-world case studies.
