Position description
This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of Development Policy (ODP), Environmental and Social (E&S) Risk Assessment Division. The Director, Environmental and Social Monitoring Systems (Supervisory Environmental and Social Monitoring Specialist) serves as a first-level supervisor and provides technical expertise in data science and management for improved data and E&S risk management outcomes.
What you’ll do:
- Leads the development of a comprehensive E&S monitoring database and associated Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring reliable transfer of monitoring data into a centralized system
- Serves as a liaison between technology platform developers and E&S risk specialists to support an efficient system for storing, tracking, and pulling investment and portfolio level E&S monitoring data
- Produces high quality written reports and delivers oral reports, synthesizing monitoring outputs and data from desk-based and on-site project monitoring to convey project and portfolio level compliance and non-compliance issues and to convey environmental and social risk trends across sectors, geographies, and financial services
- Creates and documents policies, processes, and protocols for collecting, analyzing, visualizing, and storing environmental and social monitoring data
- Supervises employees on the E&S Monitoring Systems team
Experience we’re looking for:

You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to 1) Develop or implement policies, processes, standard operating procedures and/or protocols for collecting, analyzing, visualizing, and storing non-technical risk data; 2) Serve as a liaison between IT/platform developers and analysts and/or clients to develop and implement a functional data platform; and 3) Lead, train and/or mentor others.
Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service

- Suitability for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
- Selection may require completion of a one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless met during prior Federal service
- Within 30 days of your start date, you will be required to file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 450)
- This position will require foreign travel to developing countries
