Job Description

The Director of Production is a significant senior leadership appointment for Jamie Wilson Productions. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the role will shape and oversee the strategy and operational delivery across the full slate of JWP productions. The Director of Production will oversee and be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of JWP productions, from initial planning, financial modeling and building of the creative teams alongside the Producer and Development team, through opening, running and future exploitation of productions. They will line-manage and support the JWP General Management teams, ensuring excellence in operational delivery and quality of productions, financial rigour, systems and policy development in line with best practice and strong commercial leadership.

Job Requirements

Experience Significant senior-level management experience in commercial theatre (West End and/or major UK or international touring). Proven track record of delivering and managing productions on time, within budget and maintaining positive relationships. A minimum of 10 years overall experience within the sector. Demonstrable experience managing multiple concurrent productions. Experience operating at a strategic level within a producing or general management environment. Strong knowledge of the commercial theatre landscape. Experience of long-running productions would be beneficial. Knowledge of evolving sustainability practices within the sector. Strong professional relationships at all levels of the theatre industry. Skills & Attributes A supportive leader balancing delivery of productions while supporting the professional development of the JWP team. A proactive, can-do attitude, with a calm, patient and flexible approach. Excellent attention to detail.
