Dynamic modelling and fault tolerant control of multiphase motor drives

nearmejobs.eu

The research focus of this project is on the modelling and control of multiphase machines and drives. By multiphase, motors and drives with a phase number greater than three are intended. In applications where fault tolerance and functional redundancy are of critical importance, multiphase machines and drives are of interest for the added flexibility and redundancy they offer. However, a higher number of phases not only adds to the additional degrees of freedom and hence flexibility, it also increases the complexity of the system and the ways in which it can be modelled. This project will be suitable for someone with an interest in future propulsion applications and with expertise in the dynamic modelling and control of electrical machines.
