ABOUT THE ROLES

Eastside Educational Trust is looking for an experienced Editor and Cinematographer, both with a strong background in the film industry to speak with a group of 21 aspiring filmmakers (aged 16-19) currently taking part in the BFI Film Academy.

As part of our Careers Carousel, you will join a 30 minute Zoom call to share your personal career journey, offer practical insights into the industry, and answer questions from enthusiastic students looking to break into film.

This is an opportunity to inspire and mentor the next generation of filmmakers by offering them a real world look into life as an Editor or Cinematographer.

Location:
Remote (30 minute Zoom session)

  • Date/Time: Saturday 22nd November 2025 / Time TBC
  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Location: Zoom
  • Audience: 21 students (ages 16-19) participating in the BFI Film Academy
  • Fee: £70 including VAT

Job Requirements

About You:

  • Professional experience as a Film Editor or Cinematographer across a variety of projects
  • A strong understanding of the film industry, the visual language of film and the realities of working in the industry
  • Passion for supporting young creatives and sharing knowledge
  • Confident and engaging speaker, comfortable discussing your work, sharing real world advice and answering questions
  • Desirable: Live in / grew up in any of the following boroughs: Brent, Croydon, Enfield, Newham or Barking and Dagenham
