Job Description

The Editorial Manager and Head of Editorial are the key contacts for the CEO, Advisory Chair and all external session producers.

This role collaborates across all the departments of the TV Festival and reflects our values and support the goals of the TV Foundation across key areas such as climate storytelling; class representation; and the wider need for diversity and inclusion across the industry.

Job Requirements

Person specification

Essential

  • Experience of producing sessions with senior TV figures
  • Excellent knowledge of the TV industry and the challenges and opportunities it currently faces

Desirable

  • Experience of attending and/or producing sessions for the Edinburgh TV Festival
  • An established network of contacts in the TV industry

Job Responsibilities

Editorial:

  • Support the Head of Editorial in the delivery of all Festival
  • Develop good relationships with external producers
  • Produce a number of sessions programmed by the Head of Editorial
  • Co-ordinate strand producers
  • Scheduling and capturing outcomes from editorial meetings
  • Leading communications with the producer pool and open submissions process
  • Ensuring all departments are up-to-date with editorial developments
  • Researching and securing panellists and chairs for sessions as required

Production:

  • Co-ordinate session information and assets
  • Work with the Marketing team to collate and deliver all editorial copy for the Festival brochure
  • Keep track of the budget for travel and accommodation
  • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of any audiovisual material or slides needed for sessions
  • Creating and managing editorial timelines, including announcements and deadlines, in collaboration with the Head of Editorial
