The Nassau BOCES Adult Education Program is seeking part-time educators to teach English as a Second Language classes. Educators will fulfill all teaching responsibilities for the assigned course in an inclusive working and learning environment.
Location:
Levittown (Monday – Thursday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Levittown (Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
Freeport Dodd Middle School (Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
Freeport Library (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10 AM – 1 PM)
Elmont Library (Monday and Wednesday 10 AM – 1 PM)
Elmont Library (Tuesday and Thursday 10 AM – 1 PM)
Valley Stream Memorial Jr High School (Monday and Wednesday 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
Responsibilities:
- Actively engage students in the delivery of high-quality ESL and literacy instruction.
- Maintaining accurate attendance and testing paperwork
- Attending bimonthly faculty meetings and fulfilling 14 hours of NYS mandated professional development
Requirements:
- Appropriate NYSED Teaching Certification is required
- Prior experience as a teacher and/or adult educator is preferred
Salary:
As per labor contract.
