Compensation Range:

Position Summary:

EAP faculty are expected to teach all courses in the six level skills-based curriculum, to equal at least 150 load points (e.g., five 3 credit-hour classes) per semester. Faculty are also expected to serve on college committees, to engage in on-going professional development and collaborative curriculum development, and to maintain office hours on campus and online. Love of teaching is primary. This is a tenure-track position that will begin in August 2025.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in one of the following fields: 1. Applied Linguistics, 2. Language Acquisition, 3. TESOL, 4. ESL

OR

Master’s degree in one of the following fields: 1. Linguistics, 2. Foreign Languages, 3. English, 4. 18 graduate semester hours focusing on a second language instruction/acquisition, 5. Teaching experience in college-level ESL

Preferred Qualifications:

Community college teaching experience, experience with online teaching and online curriculum development and experience working with a diverse population.

A faculty screening committee will analyze the strength of your application materials. Applicants with a qualifying degree from an educational institution outside the United States and Canada must submit a foreign credential evaluation from one of the members of the National Association of Credential Evaluations Services (website: www.naces.org). To complete your application, you must attach a copy of your graduate academic transcripts from an accredited institution of higher education, showing attainment of at least the minimum qualifications. You should include a complete online application, CV, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, and professional references. The faculty screening committee will select the top candidates for an interview that includes comprehensive questions and may require a teaching demonstration.

Pay Rate:

Faculty members will be assigned to the appropriate salary grade based on the contract with the faculty union

• Grade 2: Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in field $50,421.94
• Grade 2+: Master’s Degree with 30 graduate semester hours in the field $53,004.11
• Grade 1: PhD in major field $55,587.43

Up to four salary steps may be applied to the starting salary based on experience.
