English Language Arts – Junior High (6th-8th grade)

Description

St. Catherine Laboure School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior High English Language Arts Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in ELA instruction, a commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, and a desire to integrate Catholic values into their teaching.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and implement engaging and rigorous English language arts curriculum aligned with standards and school goals.

– Create differentiated lesson plans to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

– Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and collaboration.

– Incorporate Catholic values, traditions, and teachings into daily instruction and classroom activities.

– Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their growth and development.

– Collaborate with colleagues, and parents to support the academic and social-emotional needs of students.

Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

– Valid teaching credential

– Prior experience teaching English language arts at the junior high level

– Knowledge of best practices in English language arts instruction, including literacy strategies, writing, and literary analysis

– Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

– Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education

Wage Range

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
