This position is a 12 month English teaching position at Rockingham YDC in Reidsville, NC.
Salary is based on the NC Teaching Salary Schedule plus a 6% supplement.

About the NC Dept. of Public Safety (DPS):
The mission of DPS is to safeguard and preserve the lives and property of the people of North Carolina through prevention, protection, and preparation with integrity and honor. Included in this department are Alcohol Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice Information Network, Emergency Management, Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, NC National Guard, NC Office of Recovery and Resiliency, Samarcand Training Academy, State Capitol Police, and State Highway Patrol. Also included are these Boards and Commissions: ABC Commission, Governor’s Crime Commission, Private Protective Services Commission, and Boxing & Combat Sports Commission. DPS is comprised of approximately 6,000 permanent positions and nearly 13,000 NC National Guard temporary positions.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

The candidate must possess a current (non-expired) North Carolina teacher license, “A” or “M”, with teaching certification in the area of English, or be eligible to obtain an Emergency or Residency teaching license. Eligibility requirements for the Emergency and Residency Licenses are below:
Emergency One-Year License Eligibility: the candidate must (1) hold a bachelor’s degree with 18 hours of coursework relevant to the requested licensure area (but has not completed a recognized educator preparation program) and (2) does not qualify for a Residency License
Residency License Eligibility: the candidate must (1) hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; (2) have completed 24 hours of coursework relevant to the requested area of licensure OR passed the content area examination relevant to the requested licensure area that has been approved by the State Board of Education; (3) be enrolled in a recognized Educator Preparation Program (EPP)
